EARLY SPRING

The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size.

FRAGRANCE

Earth.  The smell of it, especially in spring.  An awakening, a heady combination of freshness and decomposing as the soil warms.  The glorious feel of hands in rich earth, dreaming of each potential bloom!

COLOUR

Early spring is pale under the brightening sunlight.  No dappling yet with deciduous leaves; each new shoot is freshly exposed and discovered with delight. A lull before the planting and busyness that will begin.
